Regular summer weather and a chance of storms

Highlights

  • Regular summer weather will continue for the next 10 days with one exception.
  • Thunderstorms are possible Friday through Saturday morning.
  • No heatwaves in sight.

Details

It’s been a really pleasant summer overall. Some of the weekends could have been nicer, and we had some smoke to deal with for a few days, but honestly, it’s been great. A real lack of long lasting, intense heat. Check out how Salem’s high temperatures look so far this month compared to normal.

Nothing wild at all temperature wise. No rain yet either, but we have a chance coming up.

Today& Thursday

Morning clouds, lots of afternoon sunshine and highs in the mid to upper 80s. Basically perfect in my book!

Friday & Saturday

A chance of thunderstorms and showers Friday through Saturday morning. Remember, thunderstorms are tricky to forecast around here, and if you recall the storms we had in July, then you will know that the best I can offer is the time frame storms are possible and the general locations where storms will take place. Beyond that, it’s a crap shoot for lack of better words. Highs Friday will top out in the low 80s, and only in the low 70s for Saturday. Any storms or showers will end Saturday morning leaving the rest of the day dry with mostly cloudy skies.

When?

Friday through Saturday morning.

Where?

Anywhere from the Cascades westward all the way to the coast. Not everyone will see a storm, but the chance for storms covers the entire Willamette Valley, coast and Coast Range, and the Cascades.

Sunday – next Friday

A return of partly to mostly sunny days. Morning clouds still possible and lows will start out in the low 50s, but highs will rebound each afternoon into the low & mid 80s.

Take care and enjoy the summer weather while it lasts! 🙂
