The forecast is pretty straight forward going into next week. We have one cool and somewhat wet day tomorrow. Drying out and turning mild Sunday. Monday through Friday will be very nice, dry and warm with highs in the 80s for the most part. Next Saturday should still be dry, but a bit cooler.
I’ve now used highlighting a few times on the extended forecast, and I’m becoming more and more of a fan of it. So much so that I plan to use it on a regular basis to help communicate how confident I’m feeling about a forecast. This should be a nice tool for letting my you, wonderful viewers, know when a forecast is more likely to change or stay about the same.

We have a brief wet period late Friday evening through most of Saturday. It won’t be a washout, but showers will come and go during this time keeping things wet.
Sunday is a transition day with clouds around, cool, but dry.
Monday is the beginning of a much drier and warmer pattern. You can see with my new confidence highlighting scheme that I have higher than normal confidence in next week being much warmer. It will be a very nice stretch of days that should carry into next weekend (28th – 30th) and maybe even longer.

Thursday is no longer highlighted in yellow as it now looks to stay dry which means we have a nice 4 day stretch of dry weather ahead. Take note it won’t be super warm, but temps in the 70s each day.
Next weekend is highlighted so stay tuned as that forecast is very non committal at this point and is subject to lots of change.
It’s Saturday and we have a mostly dry day ahead, but if you are participating in outdoor activities than keep an eye to the sky cause the chance for showers will increase dramatically late this afternoon and evening. Maybe even a thunderstorm.
Sunday will be a full on stormy day so enjoy the dry weather while it last.
The forecast for the most part has been working out just fine. We had some heavy showers and even a few claps of thunder in the area yesterday making for a rather exciting day weather wise at least for a weather guy like myself…

Sunday will be a wet and breezy.
Much of next week still looks dry, but not quite as warm. Should be more like mid 70s which will still feel very nice after this week.
Thursday of next week is highlighted yellow due to higher than normal uncertainty as we will be right on the edge of a warm & dry air mass and a wet system out in the Pacific.
The little bit of rain this morning ended our historic dry streak with 90 days straight at the Salem Airport with no measurable rain.
A big change in the weather pattern this week with showers dominating the forecast and highs struggling to reach 70. Here’s your extended forecast:
Basically showery and cool through at least the first half of Saturday.
Second half of Saturday & Sunday should be dry.
Some of the showers this week could be heavy with a clap or two of thunder and some hail especially Tuesday & Wednesday. Also very breezy at times. It will feel like summer is coming to an end, but wait….

It looks like summer will make a nice little comeback with highs back into the low 80s possible. Still a long ways out so confidence isn’t as high, but indications are that next week will be much sunnier and drier. Something to keep in mind if you have more outdoor projects to finish up.

Saturday: small chance for a sprinkle or two, but don’t let it keep you from outdoor plans. Overall a mostly dry day, just much cloudier & cooler than it has been.
Sunday: mostly sunny & dry.
Monday: some light rain with a couple sunbreaks mixed in.
Tuesday – Thursday: Best chance for rain since early June. Showers could be heavy at times during this period. The sun will peak through every now and then all 3 days, but overall the main story here will be the showers.
Friday: still wet and cool.
